Hi, I'm Omar Mneimneh
Soon-to-be computer science graduate passionate about building innovative web applications and solving complex problems.

About Me
I’m a senior Computer Science student at George Mason University graduating in December 2025. I’ve completed multiple internships where I worked on backend automation, full-stack tools, and iOS-native app performance; always with an eye on shipping high-impact features.
At Capital One, I rebuilt a room booking system used by 35k+ daily users. At Discover, I automated workflows that saved real money, improved reliability, and scaled across teams. At NASA, I built frontend tools that made navigating 43,000+ datasets way more efficient. I like solving real problems with clean code and collaborative dev practices.
Lately I’ve been into systems that scale, especially ones that involve cloud infra, scripting for DevOps, or smooth mobile/UX experiences. I’m currently looking for new grad opportunities where I can keep building tools that people actually use.
When I'm not coding, you can find me at the gym, playing with my 3 cats, or with a camera in my hands. I also love hiking, exploring new places, and traveling.
Work Experience
Software Engineer Intern
Capital One
Helped rebuild a major native iOS feature used by 35k+ customers daily. We moved it from WebView to SwiftUI, improving speed and security big time. Learned a ton about working on a mature codebase and collaborating with designers and PMs.
Software Engineer Intern
Discover Financial Services
All about automation. I built scripts and tooling in Python and Go that made dev setup and environment config basically one-click. Cut setup time from 8 minutes to 20 seconds.
Software Engineer Intern
Discover Financial Services
I added automated failure reporting to Apache Airflow jobs, which helped cut down outage resolution times.
Software Engineer Intern
NASA
I helped redesign how teams explore massive datasets; think 43,000+ databases. I built a hierarchical tree view using JavaScript that made navigating that much data way more intuitive.

Weather Dashboard
A weather application that displays current and forecasted weather data using a third-party API.

Etch A Sketch
Allows you to draw on the screen like Etch-A-Sketch toys. Allows you to also change colors, go for RGB if you're feeling feisty, or clear the screen if you don't like the outcome. Also, the slider bar allows you to add more square to the grid and make it up to a 64x64 grid
